Annona squamosa (Sweet-sop or Sugar apple)

Mango ‘Tommy Atkins’

Early to mid-season, large fruit (450–700g) , attractive skin colour, fibreless, exceptional shelf life, very tolerant of handling and transportation with little or no bruising, medium-sized tree, produces consistently heavy and good crops, tolerant to bacterial black spot

Phoenix dactylifera (Arabian Date Palm)

Cultivated for its sweet edible fruits. Date palms bear male and female flowers on separate plants. The sex of the plant is only recognizable once it flowers. To optimize yield, remove excess male plants and replace them with females, maintaining a ratio of 1 male to 10 females. Hand pollination can significantly improve yields. Date palms grow very well in Zambia, thriving in hot weather but requiring sufficient water, especially during the flowering and fruiting seasons.
