Full sun, loose, free draining, sandy loam soil, wait until the soil has dried out before watering. Pineapples are planted on ridges, two rows 40cm apart on a ridge, 60cm planting distance in the row and 1.5m from ridge centre to ridge centre (8,600 plants per hectare).
