Expiration Date of Seeds

We include an expiration date on our seed packets to ensure you receive fresh, high-quality seeds. However, seeds don’t truly expire—they lose viability over time, especially if stored improperly.

The date on the packet shows how old the seeds are or when they were certified to meet germination standards. Seeds can still germinate after this date, but the success rate depends on the type of seed. While most seeds remain viable for several years, germination rates may drop—for example, from 100% to 75% or lower.

Proper storage is key to extending seed life. Store seeds in a dark, dry, and cool location, ideally at 4°C or below. With good storage practices, most seeds stay usable for 2–3 years or longer.
